According to Gov. Herbert Utah has seen a net gain (tho small) of 2.5% since last August. Utah being the #1 state for export growth, I think there is some correlation.

It should be pointed out that there has been zero net job creation in the U.S. since December 1999. It adds up to a lost decade. If free trade is so advantageous where are the net gains in jobs?

As an immigrant myself, i know the difficulties of adjusting to a new culture, and having to seek employment in order to survive and provide for one's family. I can only imagine what some of these refugee's must have and do endure in trying to acclimate themselves to a new culture and a new life. I believe that the efforts of individual such as Jennifer Andelin, Bruno Schwartz, and other individuals and institutions is key in developing a safe haven for such communities. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!

Thank you for this great article! The refugee community in Utah is not only one of the most deserving groups but is also well qualified to work in a variety of capacities. Our refugee resettlement organization, CCS Utah, has partnered with businesses throughout the state to employ our clients and these organizations continue to seek out refugees for staffing needs year after year.

I believe International Trade is where its at. The opportunities for Salt Lake City and Utah Internationaly are incredible and are limitless. The growth opportunities for so many industries in the State of Utah are fantastic. I believe expanding International Air Service thru Salt Lake City International Airport to more foreign Markets/Cities is imperative to growing even more International Trade and Business.
