Global spotlight presentation on China by Brett W. Heimburger, Regional Dirtector - Asia, State of Utah, Governor's Office of Economic Developement.

In October 2005, Mr. Heimburger was appointed by Utah’s governor to be Director for Asia in the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. His focus includes business and diplomatic collaboration between Utah and Asia. He works closely with public and private counterparts abroad to increase Utah exports, solicit foreign direct investment, and promote tourism. Heimburger serves on the Utah International Trade Commission, the Confucius Center at the University of Utah, and the Utah-Taihu Institute for Environmental Research. He is an adjunct professor of International Business at the Gore School of Business at Westminster College.

The Salt Lake Community College Miller Global Business Center is offering the “Executive Certificate of Global Business Management” course for fall 2010. The course is designed for business executives, professionals, working staff, and entrepreneurs who wish to increase their knowledge and improve their strategies in global business practices.

Both agriculture and water related participants will attend the Saudi Agriculture 2010 Exhibition in Riyadh and have additional meetings in the city specific to their sector. A private networking reception hosted for the delegation in Riyadh will bring together leaders from both industries, including senior executives from the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council membership. In Al Qassim there will be tailored one-on-one meetings with potential business partners as well as meetings/briefings with key government planning organizations.

The mission is recruiting delegates from four key sectors – medical, ICT, agriculture, and water resources management. In Riyadh, the agriculture and water sector companies will attend the Saudi Agriculture 2010 Exhibition. ICT and medical companies will have a separate schedule of meetings and site visits in Riyadh. All mission participants will travel together to Buraydah in Al Qassim province. In Al Qassim, there will be tailored one-on-one meetings with potential business partners as well as meetings/briefings with key government organizations. Throughout the mission, all meetings and site visits will be arranged to reflect the specific marketing objectives of each participating company or organization.
