During the current economic climate the Asia Pacific Business Outlook (APBO), produced jointly by the University of Southern California’s Marshall Scholl of Business and the U.S. Department of Commerce, presents opportunities for U.S. companies to consider new sales strategies and markets that will create growth and expansion. The United Nations Asia Pacific regional arm issued a report on November 30, 2009 that showed that Asia is leading the global economic recovery, with the growth rate in 2010 forecast at 6.3 percent – the highest in the world. This is a great time for Utah companies to consider expanding their business in Asia. APBO will take place April 19-20 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
The event, held for the past 22 years, is regarded as the premier venue to expand Asia Pacific business knowledge and contacts. There will be approximately sixty seminars during the two days with speakers from government, business, and academia. The program represents the rare opportunity for exporters to meet fourteen U.S. Department of Commerce Senior Commercial Officers from throughout the East Asia Pacific region, India, and Mexico at one venue. They will present country outlooks, speak in small workshops, meet with companies in confidential, one-on-one consultations, and advise about current challenges and opportunities, and how the Commercial Service can help U.S. companies identify new business partners and increase international sales.
Participants can attend for the special discounted rate of $575 by signing up before March 26 and including the code DOC2010 when prompted.
