(Salt Lake City) – On Dec. 15th, the World Trade Center Utah, GOED, the Salt Lake Chamber and representatives of the Utah business community hosted His Excellency Vladimir N. Vinokurov, Consul General of Russia in San Francisco. This was Ambassador Vinokurov’s first trip to Salt Lake City, although he previously visited several of Utah’s scenic national parks. Consul General Vinokurov is a career diplomat and held appointments to the Soviet and then the Russian Embassy to Vientiane, Laos and the Russian Embassy to Washington, D.C. before assuming his current post in June 2007. During the meeting at the Salt Lake Chamber, Mr Vinokurov shared his expertise in developing business connections between Russia and the U.S., gave an overview of current business opportunities in Russia and described the kinds of assistance Utah companies can get at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in San Francisco. Mr. Vinokuros answered questions on Russia’s policies and procedures regarding maintaining friendly trade and investment climate.
